PO-155W test on a Trilogy 100 Ventilator

Background: The Trilogy 100 has an internal battery and external battery. When unplugged from a  continuous power source, the Trilogy first drains the external battery, then the internal battery. Each battery indicators has  5 power level bars: 1 Bar = 20%, 2 Bars = 40%, 3 Bars = 60%.

The Settings: A Trilogy 100 had the external battery drained completely and the internal battery drained until the “Low Battery” warning light appeared and the internal battery indicator did not have any filled “bars”.  The Trilogy 100 was connected to a Respironics 1.0 L Test Lung and had the following settings:
Mode: S/T,  AVAPS Rate: 5cm H20, Tidal Volume: 500ml, IPAP Max Pressure: 24cm H20,
IPAP Min Pressure: 12cm H20, EPAP: 5cmH20, Breath Rate: 14 BPM, Inspiratory Time: 1.5 sec

The Test: The Trilogy, with the drained internal and external batteries, was plugged into a fully charged Portable Outlet 155W. The Portable Outlet, then the Trilogy 100 were turned on.

The Result: The Trilogy 100, with a depleted internal and external battery, powered by a Portable Outlet 155W, ran for a total of 7.5 hours. The Portable Outlet powered the Trilogy for 2.5 hours, while simultaneously recharging the internal and external batteries up to 80%. After the Portable Outlet was finished, the Trilogy ran for another 5 hours off the recharged batteries.
